Cambridge Who's Who Names Mike Ackers Executive of the Year in Equity Brokerage Services
Mike Ackers Makes Profits and Shares Success

LONDON, ENGLAND, November 10, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mike Ackers, Chief Executive of OCM Capital Markets, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year in Equity Brokerage Services. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Mr. Ackers took over as chief executive last year and oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, working to develop the business into a more progressive and balanced franchise. With 29 years of experience in equity brokerage services, he brings OCM Capital Markets his wide-ranging expertise in equity markets and people and performance management. Mr. Ackers previously worked for 21 years at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. and at Kleinwort Benson for three years. He also spent three years at Wedd, Durlacher, Mordaunt & Co.

Mr. Ackers feels that success in any aspect of life, be it business, sport, or academia, is immeasurably more pleasurable if it is shared with others who have been part of the journey. He attributes his success to hard work, common sense, and the ability to surround himself with good people who are great fun to work with. He became involved in his profession because he wanted to carve his own way, separate from his father, who was in shipbroking in London. This decision led him to stockbroking. The highlight of Mr. Acker's career was trading profitably through the crash of 1987 and being appointed head of equity trading and sales trading for Asia Pacific while at ABN AMRO, which afforded him the opportunity to work with some amazing people.

Mr. Ackers earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics at The University of Warwick, with honors, and received a Master of Philosophy in economics from the University of Cambridge. He is a member of Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. In the next several years, Mr. Ackers intends to grow both personally and professionally, and move OCM Capital Markets to the next level.
